Product Description
Xbox 360 HDMI Cable
The Xbox 360 HDMI Cable, included with the Xbox 360 Elite system, enables a single cable to deliver HD video (up to 1080p) and multichannel surround sound to a TV or an audio/video surround receiver.

  • Connect to a High-Definition TV
The Xbox 360 HDMI Cable gives you the option of using a single digital AV cable to connect to a high-definition TV. The Xbox 360 console and HDMI cable work with high-definition televisions including big-screen projection, plasma, DLP, and LCD TVs.

  • To connect your Xbox 360 console to your high-definition TV (HDTV):
    - Turn off your console.
    - If another AV cable (such as the component HD AV cable) is already connected to your console's AV port, disconnect it before continuing.
    - Connect the HDMI AV cable connector to the HDMI AV port (not the standard AV port) on the console.
    - Connect the other end of the HDMI AV cable to the HDMI input on your TV.
    - Turn on your console. From the System area, select the appropriate high definition video setting for your TV.

  • Connect a Stereo Audio System with the HDMI Cable
HDMI supports audio through your TV. However, you might prefer to connect Xbox 360 audio to a different audio system, such as a stereo receiver or amplifier. To do so, connect the HDMI AV cable for video and the included audio adapter cable for audio.

Note: If you have a receiver that supports HDMI you don't need to use the HDMI AV cable. Instead, you can simply run your HDMI cable straight to the receiver and then out of the receiver to the TV.

5 out of 5 stars Careful with this, this is not a Converter.   October 10, 2007

I Love my XBOX 360 with it's Microsoft VGA Cable.
Just wanted to Clear this up for people with the older 360's looking to boost their graphics. (This Cable dose exactly what it is meant to do, that is why I give it 5 Stars).

I have a non-HDMI XBOX 360 core system mfg. 7/2007, the picture doesn't show it well, but all this package contains is a Standard HDMI cable and a adapter that connects to the large A/V port on the back of the 360 and goes out to SOUND ONLY.

This WILL NOT Adapt your Standard 360 A/V port to HDMI.

This product only works if your XBOX 360 Already has a HDMI port in the back and it just gives you ports for audio so you can attach your 360 to HDMI and your surround sound receiver. where as with just HDMI cable, the sound is just coming from your TV's speakers.

Works only with xboxes that have HDMI output ports (manufactured around July 07). This kit allows you to connect your xbox to an hdmi input on your TV. It also comes with a special adaptor that allows you to connect an output dongle to the regular output of the xbox. This adaptor allows you to output an optical connection to your sound system separately (for those of you who don't want/can't get their audio through HDMI)

Con: It stinks that you need this. The xbox comes with a connector that has an optical audio output, but this connector is so large that an HDMI cable will not fit into the adjacent HDMI port at the same time.

5 out of 5 stars Don't bother reading negative reviews, instead...   May 11, 2008

...know what you are buying and what your needs are. Description clearly states that this unit does nothing except allow you to run an HDMI video signal to your TV for 1080p and a digital audio signal to your home theatre system. If you have a home theatre system with HDMI inputs and outputs you do not need this. If you want sound coming from TV speakers you do not need this. Works great for what it does and meets my needs. If you do not have an XBOX with an HDMI output, then obviously you do not need this.

    5 out of 5 stars For HDMI 360's only   September 18, 2007

This product DOES work with the standard 360 as long as it's one of the HDMI compatible models. All newly produced 360's have HDMI support, but onlt the Elite model comes with this cable. If you have a newer 360 and the TV to support it, dont hesitate to buy this cable and experience true 1080p HDMI video.

5 out of 5 stars What I needed to connect both HDMI and optical audio simultaneously   January 26, 2010

This kit includes both an HDMI cable and an RCA/Optical Audio adapter. The RCA/Optical Audio adapter has connections for both digital optical and RCA-type audio. If you just want to connect your Xbox 360 to your TV or A/V receiver via HDMI, you can probably get by with an HDMI cable alone (and these can be obtained very inexpensively). I needed this kit because I need to use both the HDMI connection (to my A/V receiver) and the digital optical audio output (to my Turtle Beach wireless gaming headphones) at the same time. The RCA/Optical adapter that came with my Xbox 360 has such a large-size connector that it blocks the HDMI port, so I couldn't use both at the same time. The RCA/Optical Audio adapter in this package has a smaller connector so that both HDMI and RCA/Optical audio can be plugged in simultaneously. I give it 5 stars because it does all that it is supposed to do and works well. The list price is too pricey so I bought it used through an Amazon 3rd-party seller and it was just like new (and in fact may be new, but just not in the original packaging).
